In my curry version, I usually sauté some chopped onions with vegetable oil before adding the paste (grinded paste of ginger, onion and garlic) and curry powder. And I use a mixture of coconut milk and milk.  My MIL use yogurt instead of coconut milk and she adds apples - it gives a delicious  twist in the curry taste.</description>
